Flow Cytometry Unit

The Transversal Flow Cytometry Unit of the Health Research Institute (Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria) of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos (IdISSC) is a platform whose objective is to provide scientific and technical support to the different research groups in order to carry out research projects involving the use of flow cytometry in the characterisation and monitoring of different pathologies and biological processes.

It has a Cytoflex cytometer (3 lasers, 13 colors) and a Cytoflex SRT sorter. It also has two analysis software programs for data processing (KALUZA analysis software and CytExpert analysis software).

In addition, due to the increase of companies demanding quality controls, a series of internal and external protocols will be implemented in an attempt to implement the ISO9100 standard.

Opening hours: the equipment will be available from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 18:00 h.

Services offered

The services offered by the Cytometry Research Support Transversal Unit (RSTU) to date are:

Sample processing and acquisition for cytometer analysis
Separation of cell samples by sorting.
Cytometric data analysis
At the request of the investigators, technical assistance will be provided for the study and observation of samples under the best possible conditions, for the design of analytical protocols, the selection of antibodies and the processing and acquisition of data, as well as their analysis.
